Want to own a landmark that’s in the National Registry of Historic Places? Well believe it or not, now you can! The Boon Island Light Station is now currently available for online auction and is awaiting your bid! Located on a small islet off the southern coast of York, Maine, this lighthouse was originally constructed way back in 1855. The 133 foot tower has a tapered design and is constructed from ashlar granite that’s punctuated by two vertical rows of seven windows. Inside the tower you’ll find a circular stairway that leads all the way up to a door at the parapet. There is also a small shed located on the property which was probably once used as a boathouse, but today sits in ruins. The islet is situated 14 feet above sea level and is quite close to the mainland. The current asking price for this auction is just $5,000 with no bids as of yet! That’s a small price to pay for something as awesome as this. If you’d like to learn more about it, then all you have to do is click here to activate your 3 day free trial account!
