A Hummer H2, The Impractical Vehicle Everyone Needs!
The Hummer was the answer to the question no one asked. “What happens if you take a truck, widen and lengthening it while making it bigger and heavier, then giving it the gas mileage and styling of a brick?” When it was first unleashed upon the world, it was quite the polarizing vehicle. While the conservationist folks wrung their hands at its wastefulness, high riding Americans uncaringly roared past, a huge All-American grin on their collective faces, which led to the successful sales of 3 different models, creatively named the H1 H2 and H3. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending who you ask) the popularity of Hummers started plummeting with the rising cost of gas in the early 2000’s. With prices at the pump quickly rising into the $3 a gallon range, owning a vehicle that besides being hugely impractical, was racking up huge gas bills hastened the Hummers fall from grace. The final death knoll for this vehicle was the recession and GM issues which culminated with the brand being discontinued in 2008. Well, with gas prices now finally returned to $2, the Hummer is powering back into the automotive story! Now, you can finally bid on a 2004 Hummer H2 and it’s not totally impractical anymore! Why would you want to? Easy! With the multitude of cars today looking more and more like over sized hot wheels, what other car is so commanding as this beast which unabashedly bellows “I am American.” With a huge amount of surface area and an “in-your-face red” paint job, this is sure to command the road. Its massive 6 liter V8 and seating for 6, makes this car ideal for weekend getaways, and the zombie apocalypse! Bidding for this America-mobile began January 13 at 11:00 AM (ET) and ends January 20 at 12:20 PM (ET) starting at just $100; and remember, what you lose in MPG you gain in SMG (Smile Per Gallon)! Check out this International Eagle up for auction today! The truck was made in 2002, and is currently bidding at just $5,725! This model number 99000i truck is a good sturdy truck and looks nice and modern with its rocket red paint job and a stellar exterior. With a measly 56,371 miles under her wheels, this truck is practically new for a long hauler like this and comes equipped with a built in sleeper – a very useful feature that is included as a part of the Detroit 60 Series. Some of the nitty gritty details that you should know, especially if you are looking to buy this truck to resell, are the Model Code – L932700, the wheel base – 250 in/635.0 cm, the AF Dimension – 54.3 in/138.0 cm, the gear ratio – 3.58 and that there are no recalls pending. This diesel truck is in fully operable condition and is equipped with a manual transmission, has power windows, power door locks, power brakes, A/C, 2 doors, bucket cloth seats, and a hard top roof. Dispense with warehouse issues with this super cheap forklift.
Forklifts! These goofy, disproportionately shaped vehicles look like some kind of grown up go-kart, but in reality, they provide a necessary function for many businesses. Most consumers take for granted that the 5o pound bags of sand, piled 20 high, on a shelf 10 feet above them had to get up there somehow. The forklift, in its capacity as a large inventory mover, is the un-celebrated workhorse that makes the modern warehouse possible. The forklift up for auction has a laughably low current bid of just $505, more than $7,000 less than the next best price! What you get for the price is an all electric forklift, manufactured by ‘Crown,’ model #40fctt-188. This machine can heft loads up to 3,600 pounds with ease and its press on solid wheels will keep on rolling longer than regular tires between replacements. On the other hand, the price for this huge markdown is the uncertainty that can come with this type of deal. The forks of the lift are included but need to be attached, the charger is not included and would need to be replaced and the sale condition is “as is.” If you are OK with that and the chance of maybe needing to do a few repairs to get it in full working order, than this huge money saving auction is for you. After bidding on the Lathe, check out this Drill Press!
After yesterdays post about a lathe, I thought I would continue with the “workshop” theme. Today’s featured auction, the humble drill press, is truly a workshop staple and is used by beginners and professionals. With a precision handle that allows you to slowly and precisely lower the bit, it easily bests a hand drill with its precision, and stability. Thanks to its interchangeable drill bits, it can drill though many different materials and can be used for a large variety of projects. This specific example is manufactured by “Central Machinery” and is model T-583. Equipped with 16 speeds, 1 HP and 16 AMPs it is up for the job and ready for action. The drill is located in New Johnsonville, TN and has a current bid of just $70 with just 2 current bidders and an end time of December 28 at 7:12 PM Central Time (CT). It should be noted that the listing does mention that the drill needs repair, but with simple machinery like this, if you are handy, it should be easily repairable and you can get a handy tool at a low price! Expand your workshop with this super cheap lathe!
The lathe is an integral piece in a workshop and is used to machine a large variety of products. Baseball bats, pens, jewelry, and bowls are all things that can easily be made with a lathe; as you can see, it is quite a useful and versatile tool. Basically, it works along the same principle of many large tools. Rather than bringing the raw material to the tool, you bring the tool to the raw material allowing you to create more symmetrical pieces and create many products that all look exactly the same. This specific model is a gap bed lathe, sometimes referred to as an ‘extension-type’ lathe. This means that for all intents and purposes it is like a normal lathe, but has the added benefit that it can be adjusted to machine larger work pieces. It can be moved horizontally to accommodate longer pieces and vertically to accommodate wider pieces. A similar ‘Goodway’ model GW-1660 lathe, can be found online costing thousands of dollars, from $4,400 and up. By comparison, this lathe is currently bidding at little more than $1,000 dollars! At a 75% discount on the lowest used price that showed up online, this is quite a find! The winning bidder will have to arrange transport from Salt Lake City, UT and place their bid before December 26 at 10:00 AM (CT), but if you can do that head over and place your bid!
